Which Rapha bibs should you buy?

Every range uses a different pad and fabric. These rows only show bibs and shorts.

Core bibs

The best-value Rapha bib

Fit:
Relaxed regular cut
Best for:
Rides up to three or four hours, commuting

Reviewers rate Core bibs highly for the money. The pad is simpler than Pro Team and they are not the coolest in a heatwave, but they are comfortable and hard-wearing.

Pro Team bibs

Race fit with Rapha’s best chamois

Fit:
Close compressive cut
Best for:
Long hard rides, racing, hot weather

Lighter, more supportive fabric and a better pad. Worth it if you ride a lot of hours. Pro Team Training bibs sit between Core and Pro Team on price.

Cargo and Explore bibs

Pockets on the legs, made for gravel

Fit:
Regular cut
Best for:
Gravel, bikepacking, long rides with food

Leg and back pockets mean you can carry food and a phone without a jersey. Popular with gravel riders.

How to buy Rapha bibs on discount

Buy the range you already know, if you can. Bibs are personal. If you have a pair of Rapha bibs that fit, the same range in the same size on sale is the safest buy on this page.

Do not size down to get a deal. A bib that is too tight in the straps or legs ruins every ride. If only the smaller size is discounted, wait.

Bibs or shorts? Bib straps stop the waistband digging in and keep the pad in place. Waist shorts are easier for café stops and commuting. Most road riders prefer bibs.

Check the season. Summer bibs go cheap in autumn, and winter bib tights are on our Rapha winter kit page.

Rapha bib shorts questions

Are Rapha Core bib shorts worth it?

For most riders, yes. Reviewers rate them as one of the best-value bibs from a premium brand. The pad is simpler than Pro Team and they run warm in hot weather, but on discount they are hard to beat.

What is the difference between Rapha Core and Pro Team bibs?

Pro Team bibs use lighter, more compressive fabric and a better chamois, with a closer race cut. Core bibs are looser, simpler and cheaper. If you ride more than three hours at a time, Pro Team is the more comfortable choice.

Do Rapha bibs come up small?

Pro Team bibs are cut close, so they can feel small if you are used to relaxed kit. Some reviewers size down in Core. Use Rapha’s size chart for the specific bib and take advantage of 30-day returns.
