The best cycling gifts for women are the same as for any rider: things she’ll use. The difference is clothing, where fit really does matter.
Women’s-specific kit is about fit, not colour. Women’s jerseys and jackets are usually shorter in the body, narrower at the shoulder and shaped differently at the hip. Women’s shorts and bibs use a different pad (chamois) shape. Many women ride happily in unisex kit, but if she’s been making do, a women’s cut is a noticeable upgrade.
Shorts and bibs are personal. Pad comfort varies a lot between brands. If she already likes a brand, buy that brand. If you’re not sure, choose outer layers (jackets, jerseys, gloves, arm warmers) instead, which are much more forgiving.
Check her size on something she already owns. Look at a label on her favourite jersey or jacket. Cycling sizes vary between brands, so check the brand’s size chart and ask for a gift receipt.
Accessories have no size. Lights, glasses, a bar bag, a pump or a multi-tool suit any rider and are hard to get wrong. Our gifts under £50 page has plenty more.
Skip saddles and pedals unless she’s named the exact model. Shoes only make sense if she’s switching to clip-ins and you know her size.
